Evaluation of Sergeant Ewald Rapp, born 1.4.1912

Sgt. Rapp has a straightforward and honest character and healthy ambition. His professional knowledge is good in all aspects. During the Poland and France campaigns, he was well-proven in his responsibilities as forage master and leader of the baggage train. His prudence, and his care for both man and horse were demonstrated, especially in the current campaign, where his leadership qualities were demonstrated as he led the entourage in the most difficult of situations. He has great physical capabilities and is an excellent rider. His behavior in the front lines is absolutely sure, and he demonstrates exemplary behaviour towards superiors. Rapp is very popular among his comrades-in-arms. His family relationships are appropriate. Rapp has been awarded the KVK War Merit 2nd Class with Swords, the Winter Battle in the East 1941–42 Medal and the Iron Cross 2nd Class. At this office it is unknown whether Sergeant Rapp was awarded the black or silver Wound Badge. Sgt. Rapp was reassigned from active service on Dec. 4, 1942 due to severe injuries.
